Complications of eyelash transplantation include damage to ocular nerves, infection, and inflammation. The eyelashes are transplanted according to their natural growth direction. After several months, new eyelashes will grow from the transplanted hair follicles. Natural eyelashes are conical in shape and relatively soft, whereas transplanted ones are cylindrical, thicker, and coarser. Since false eyelashes are attached to real lashes from the roots, they can be troublesome during activities such as bathing or sleeping.
