How to treat nerve compression
Disease description:
Nowadays, many people are in poor health, and unhealthy lifestyle habits have left a large number of individuals in a sub-healthy state. Most of them experience symptoms of nerve compression. How is nerve compression treated?
Nerve compression presents differently depending on the location, with early signs typically involving nerve edema. Treatment mainly includes the following aspects: adequate rest, especially around the joints near the compressed area, using immobilization to reduce frequent movement of the joint or the site of nerve compression; local heat application to alleviate edema caused by nerve compression; and surgery, which may be necessary if conservative treatment is ineffective or symptoms worsen. In such cases, the degree of nerve compression should be evaluated through electromyography or physical examination.
