Yellow eyes with red bloodshot streaks are symptoms of excessive liver fire. In patients with excessive liver fire, damp-heat accumulates deep within the liver, causing a steaming effect on the liver and gallbladder, which leads to bile leakage. Since bile is yellow, its upward infiltration into the eyes causes them to appear yellow. The appearance of red blood vessels in the eyes primarily results from impaired liver function, as the liver is the main site for synthesizing clotting factors. Liver damage disrupts this synthesis, leading to bleeding in the ocular capillaries.
