There are many reasons for slow reaction and decreased memory, including both physiological and pathological causes. Physiological causes mainly involve excessive fatigue or chronic sleep deprivation due to staying up late. If the body does not get adequate rest, it may lead to slowed reactions and impaired memory. Pathological causes are commonly seen in cerebrovascular diseases, brain injuries, brain tumors, encephalitis, etc. When local neural tissues are affected or compressed, delayed reactions and memory decline may occur.
