What does it mean when fetal movements become frequent at the due date?

Frequent fetal movements at term are generally caused by fetal hypoxia. As the due date approaches, increased fetal activity may indicate oxygen deficiency in the fetus, and an ultrasound examination at the hospital is recommended to assess fetal development, amniotic fluid levels, placenta, and umbilical cord conditions. Fetal heart rate monitoring should also be performed, followed by further treatment as needed. If necessary, oxygen therapy can be administered to the pregnant woman to alleviate fetal hypoxia. If fetal heart monitoring results are normal, the pregnancy may continue until natural delivery. However, if required, labor may be induced using oxytocin, a cervical ripening balloon (water bag), or even cesarean section may be performed to terminate the pregnancy.
