What should be noted about echogenic foci in the fetal left ventricle?

Fetal echogenic intracardiac focus (EIF) in the left ventricle requires regular prenatal checkups. If an echogenic focus is detected in the left ventricle, it is important to undergo routine prenatal examinations to assess whether the fetus has any abnormalities, monitor fetal heart rate and movements, and closely observe fetal growth and development. The appearance of an echogenic focus in the left ventricle during a mid-pregnancy fetal echocardiography is a relatively common finding. However, it should not be classified as cardiac underdevelopment; it may represent a normal variant or a transient change in the fetus. In most cases, this finding resolves spontaneously in the later stages of pregnancy.
