I've noticed that my wife's nipples are very small, and I'm a bit worried about breastfeeding after we have a child. Why are her nipples so small?

Small nipples are generally caused by congenital heredity or organic lesions. Before puberty, the breasts have not yet developed and estrogen levels in the body are very low, which results in small nipples. During puberty, after childbirth, or during breastfeeding, nipple size may increase due to elevated hormone levels. However, if small nipples are due to familial genetics, they usually do not grow significantly larger; this is considered physiological nipple hypoplasia and does not require treatment. Regular massage and attention to diet are recommended. Additionally, organic conditions such as nipple inflammation can cause the nipple to become abnormally small or even inverted due to scarring or retraction.
