Irregular menstruation in women is often caused by insufficient estrogen levels in the body. In addition, certain gynecological conditions may also lead to menstrual abnormalities. If the color of menstrual blood is abnormal, it is mostly accompanied by excessive menstrual bleeding. It is advisable to drink plenty of water and keep warm regularly. Avoid contact with cold water or consuming cold drinks during menstruation. The presence of blood clots in menstrual flow along with dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation) may indicate inflammation. Even after normal ovulation, an abnormally short menstrual cycle or significantly irregular cycles—along with increased bleeding before and after menstruation—may occur due to inadequate luteal function or incomplete luteal regression.
