Can hysteroscopy detect blocked fallopian tubes?
Disease description:
I've recently been experiencing irregular menstruation along with dysmenorrhea. After a hospital examination, my doctor diagnosed me with blocked fallopian tubes. Tubal blockage can lead to infertility and other health issues. Can hysteroscopy detect blocked fallopian tubes?
Hysteroscopy cannot examine the fallopian tubes. During hysteroscopy, the uterine cavity is distended with a uterine distension medium, and a cold light source is introduced into the uterine cavity via optical glass, cellulose, and cylindrical lenses through the hysteroscope. Under direct visualization, the cervical canal, internal cervical os, endometrium, and tubal ostia can be observed. Physiological and pathological changes within the uterine cavity can be directly examined, allowing for precise and targeted biopsy sampling based on visible pathological tissue for histopathological examination.
