Disease description:

Because I've been sitting in the office for long periods, I recently started experiencing some discomfort in my neck. After spending extended hours looking down at my phone, I went to the hospital for a checkup and was diagnosed with cervical spondylotic myelopathy. What should I do about cervical spondylotic myelopathy?

Treatment for cervical spondylotic myelopathy includes conservative management and surgical intervention, with the choice of therapy depending on the patient's symptoms. For patients with mild symptoms, conservative treatment is recommended, with an emphasis on adequate rest. Patients should avoid低头 (bending the head forward), refrain from prolonged neck movement, and keep neck muscles as relaxed as possible. Conservative treatment may help slow the progression of cervical spondylosis to some extent, but regular follow-up is necessary. If the condition worsens, surgery should still be considered. Currently, the effectiveness of drug therapy is limited. If patients are not allergic to topical plasters, certain herbal plasters that promote blood circulation and resolve blood stasis may be used under medical supervision.
