Stroke is a general term in traditional Chinese medicine for cerebrovascular diseases. There are many factors that cause cerebral stroke, involving blood vessels, blood, and hemorheology. The most common causes include atherosclerosis and embolism induced by hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia; fluctuations in blood pressure can lead to changes in hemodynamics; increased platelets or hemoconcentration result in abnormalities in blood components. In addition, conditions such as hyperhomocysteinemia are also contributing factors to stroke.
