What causes hepatic hemangioma?
Disease description:
Recently, during a color ultrasound of my liver, I found a hemangioma under the liver. What causes hemangiomas in the liver?
Hepatic hemangiomas may be caused by congenital factors. If capillaries in the liver become congested or undergo infectious deformation during embryonic development, this may lead to the development of liver hemangiomas after birth. In addition, hormonal changes within the body may also contribute. A rise in hormone levels is often associated with the development of hepatic hemangiomas.
