Precursor of leukemia due to formaldehyde poisoning
Disease description:
My friend moved into his house right after the renovation, and recently he's been feeling constantly weak. Could this be related to severe leukemia? What are the early signs of leukemia caused by formaldehyde poisoning?
In the pre-leukemia stage of formaldehyde poisoning, early signs may include red and teary eyes, low-grade fever, body weakness, excessive sweating, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. As the condition progresses, symptoms such as bleeding, infections, and anemia may also develop. Formaldehyde-induced leukemia is primarily caused by inhaling or being exposed to high concentrations of formaldehyde gas over a short period. Early detection and prompt treatment are strongly recommended.
