Influenza A, or H1N1 flu, refers to influenza caused by infection with the influenza A virus and is one of the types of epidemic influenza. It is characterized by sudden onset, rapid transmission, and widespread dissemination. Typical features of influenza A include high fever and systemic toxic symptoms. Body temperature can rapidly rise to around 39°C and usually remains elevated for several days. Systemic symptoms commonly involve headache, muscle aches throughout the body, extreme fatigue, loss of appetite, sore throat, dry cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, and retrosternal discomfort.
