Influenza A is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by infection with the Influenza A virus, and is a type of influenza. The transmission route is generally through respiratory droplets, or through indirect contact with patients' oral and nasal secretions, or with daily items contaminated by the virus, such as hands, towels, clothing, and tableware. Humans are generally susceptible to the influenza virus. After infection, individuals can acquire immunity against the same virus subtype, but this immunity is short-lived. Moreover, there is no cross-immunity among different subtypes, so reinfection may occur repeatedly.
