Symptoms during the incubation period of H1N1 influenza
Disease description:
My friend hasn't been feeling well for the past couple of days and is concerned about H1N1 influenza. Could you please advise what symptoms might appear during the incubation period of H1N1?
Symptoms during the incubation period of H1N1 influenza generally include headache, general fatigue, muscle aches, fever, cough, and sore throat. In children, symptoms such as rash may also occur. The incubation period may last 2–3 weeks, or even longer. However, symptoms may not appear at all, and some individuals may remain asymptomatic. Even those who do experience symptoms might not be able to distinguish whether they are caused by a viral infection. Definitive diagnosis can only be confirmed through a nasopharyngeal swab test.
