What is immunity
Disease description:
Yesterday the teacher taught immunology, but I didn't fully understand some parts and was too hesitant to ask. I'd like to consult here about what immunity is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Immunity is a natural defense mechanism that enables the human body to resist invasion by external pathogens and prevent the occurrence of diseases. Immunity can be categorized into organized immunity and non-organized immunity. Organized immunity refers to the body's mechanisms—either innate or acquired—that actively combat foreign infections. It mainly includes innate immunity and adaptive immunity. Innate immunity involves natural substances such as antibodies and macrophages that provide effective defense, while adaptive immunity refers to methods that enhance the body's immune capacity, such as vaccination and indirect immunization promotion. Non-organized immunity refers to unconscious immune mechanisms of the body, such as non-specific barriers, mucosal defenses, and humoral immunity. These play an important role in maintaining the body's balance and homeostasis and form the foundation of the body's immune system.
