Do kidney cysts require treatment?
Disease description:
Today during a medical checkup at the hospital, I found out that there is a cyst in my kidney area. I'm worried and would like to ask: does a kidney cyst require treatment?
Whether kidney cysts require treatment depends on individual circumstances. If the cyst is small, with a diameter not exceeding 5 cm, and there are no obvious clinical symptoms, special treatment is usually unnecessary, but regular follow-up examinations are recommended. However, if the cyst is larger than 5 cm or compresses surrounding tissues, treatment is typically needed, such as cyst aspiration or laparoscopic cyst decortication.
