What should I do if an adult has a fever of 38°C that won't go away?
Disease description:
My husband has had a fever of 38°C today, and it hasn't gone down. I'm really worried and wondering what I should do.
If an adult has a persistent fever of 38°C caused by bacterial infection, antibiotics may be used as directed by a physician to help reduce inflammation, such as azithromycin or roxithromycin. If the fever is due to a viral infection, antiviral medications such as ganciclovir or acyclovir may be used. If body temperature exceeds 38.5°C, antipyretic medications such as loxoprofen or ibuprofen can be added.
