How to differentiate between cold-induced感冒 (common cold due to wind-cold) and heat-induced感冒 (common cold due to wind-heat)
Disease description:
I've had a cold for the past couple of days, with frequent sneezing. I'm not sure whether it's a cold due to wind-cold or wind-heat. How can one differentiate between wind-cold and wind-heat types of common cold?
In general, wind-cold and wind-heat colds can be differentiated based on symptoms. Wind-cold colds commonly occur in autumn and winter, and patients typically experience chills, pain in the back of the head, nasal congestion, cough with thin, white phlegm, or clear, watery nasal discharge. Patients with wind-heat colds usually develop significant fever, headache with a feeling of fullness, thirst, sore and swollen throat, yellow and thick nasal discharge, or cough with yellow phlegm.
