What causes a pseudoaneurysm?

Pseudoaneurysm is a common vascular disease that can be diagnosed using ultrasound imaging. There are several possible causes of pseudoaneurysm. First, endothelial denudation of blood vessels may trigger it. Additionally, external tumor cell infiltration can thin the vessel wall, leading to increased blood flow and aneurysm formation. Moreover, inflammatory responses may damage the blood vessels, contributing to the development of aneurysms. Finally, impaired phytosterol transport may cause vascular spasm, which can also lead to aneurysm formation. The standard treatment for pseudoaneurysm is endovascular embolization. This technique can improve the appearance of the aneurysm, thicken the vessel wall, prevent further blood flow into the aneurysmal sac, maintain normal circulation, and alleviate the condition.
