Hello, cubitus varus deformity is caused by either congenital or acquired factors, characterized by medial deviation of the ulnar axis—hence the term “cubitus varus.” This deformity most commonly results from trauma. When individuals fall and instinctively extend their arms to brace against the ground, the resulting force is transmitted to the elbow, leading to fracture of the weakest bony structure in that region. Following a fracture at this site, elbow joint deformity may develop; if not properly treated, it often results in a persistent deformity known as cubitus varus. I hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
