How long does it take for symptoms to appear after contracting influenza B?
Disease description:
Recently, my colleague caught influenza B, and I suspect I might have been infected too. How long does it usually take for symptoms to appear if one has influenza B?
Symptoms of influenza B typically appear within 1 to 3 days after infection. Influenza B is a type of seasonal flu, an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by the influenza B virus. It develops rapidly and commonly presents with high fever, headache, fatigue, and body aches. Some patients may also experience nasal congestion, runny nose, and coughing. Individuals with stronger constitutions may develop symptoms within one day of infection, whereas those with weaker immune systems might show symptoms within three days—or even later.
