What should I do if a child has a fever at night and there are no medications available?
Disease description:
The baby suddenly developed a fever in the middle of the night, and there's no medicine at home—what should I do?
If a child develops a fever at night and no medication is available, sponge bathing with lukewarm water can effectively reduce the child's body temperature. Use a dry towel or gauze dipped in lukewarm water to gently wipe the child's body, especially the hands, feet, and head. Always test the water temperature before bathing to avoid scalding the baby's skin. Alternatively, use a towel or gauze soaked in cool water and gently apply it to the child's forehead, palms, soles of the feet, and armpits. Replace the compress every 10 to 15 minutes until the body temperature decreases. If the condition is severe, seek medical attention promptly.
