The manifestations of bone tumors in children mainly include local swelling, pain, joint dysfunction, and fever. Specifically, local swelling may result from stimulation by tumor cells, while pain is often caused by the tumor tissue compressing surrounding nerves, presenting as persistent or intermittent discomfort that sometimes worsens at night. Joint dysfunction may manifest as stiffness and restricted movement, and in severe cases, may even lead to disability. Fever may arise due to endogenous pyrogens released from necrotic tumor tissue.
