Which acupoints should be used for the Sanfu贴 (Sanfu patch) in treating rhinitis?
Disease description:
I have rhinitis and would like to ask which acupoints should be used for the Sanfu贴 (Sanfu patches)?
Sanfu Patch is a traditional Chinese medical therapy used to treat rhinitis. It involves applying medicated patches to specific acupuncture points to alleviate symptoms. The main acupoints used in Sanfu Patch therapy for rhinitis are Dazhui (GV14), Taixi (KI3), and Taichong (LR3). Dazhui is located on the back at the highest point of the spine between the shoulders, along the posterior border of the scapula. Taixi is situated on the inner aspect of the foot, in the depression between the medial malleolus and the Achilles tendon. Taichong is found on the dorsum of the foot, between the first and second metatarsal bones, proximal to the web margin between the big toe and the second toe, along the liver meridian. The correct procedure involves applying the medicated patch to the selected acupoints and securing it with a bandage. Each application lasts for 3 days, followed by a 3-day break before reapplying. This cycle is repeated for 2–3 sessions, which can effectively relieve symptoms of rhinitis.
