The quadrivalent influenza vaccine is intended for children and adults aged 6 months and older, with children receiving the vaccine more frequently than adults. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that infants aged 6 months and older receive 1–2 doses of the quadrivalent influenza vaccine. Children aged 6 months up to 2 years should be vaccinated annually; children aged 2–8 years should be vaccinated annually; children aged 9–17 years should be vaccinated annually; and adults aged 18 years and older should also be vaccinated annually.
