Disease description:
What is comfortable painless tooth extraction?
Pain-free extraction refers to the use of anesthetic drugs prior to tooth removal in order to reduce the patient's pain sensation, ensuring that the patient does not experience significant pain during the extraction procedure. Pain-free extraction is a treatment method, but it is not suitable for all patients. Before performing pain-free extraction, the dentist administers local anesthesia, which blocks nerve conduction and thereby achieves analgesic effects. During the extraction, patients generally do not feel obvious pain; however, once the anesthetic wears off, patients may begin to experience discomfort or pain. Patients who are particularly sensitive to pain might still feel noticeable pain during the procedure. If a patient has severe inflammation causing tooth mobility, pain-free extraction is generally not recommended, as the procedure could potentially spread the infection, leading to symptoms such as facial swelling, limited mouth opening, and fever.
