What causes a buzzing sound in the left ear?
A buzzing sound in the left ear may be caused by earwax blockage. Earwax normally protects the ear canal by preventing dust, bacteria, and other foreign substances from entering. However, when it accumulates and forms a plug, it can obstruct the ear canal and lead to a buzzing sensation. This symptom may also result from external ear infections or inflammation. If the patient experiences fever, headache, or persistent discomfort, prompt medical attention is necessary to ensure timely and effective treatment. Additionally, buzzing in the ear could be due to exposure to high-pressure gas, conjunctivitis of the ear (likely referring to ear canal inflammation), or eardrum perforation. If the individual has abnormal tinnitus, ear pain, or ear bleeding, immediate medical evaluation is also required.
