Can a child's indigestion cause diarrhea?
Disease description:
Can a child's indigestion cause diarrhea?
A baby with food stagnation may or may not experience diarrhea. Due to their young age, babies have gastrointestinal digestive functions that are not yet fully developed. If a baby consumes hard-to-digest foods or eats too much at once, the food may remain undigested in the intestines for a prolonged period, leading to food stagnation. Food stagnation in babies may increase gastrointestinal motility, resulting in diarrhea, or it may slow down gastrointestinal motility, causing constipation.
