How to stop bleeding after tooth extraction
The following measures are recommended:
1. Disinfect the tooth extraction socket using sterile cotton balls and antiseptic solution.
2. Apply a clean cotton ball over the extraction site and maintain firm pressure to control bleeding.
3. Replace the cotton ball at the extraction site with a new one and continue applying pressure to stop the bleeding.
4. Use ice packs to help reduce bleeding—apply an ice pack to the area for 10–15 minutes at a time, repeating every 1–2 hours, which can effectively minimize bleeding.
5. Anticoagulant medications, such as blood thinners, may be used to prevent bleeding, but only under a doctor's supervision. Always consult a physician before taking any medication to ensure safety.
