Treatment methods for oral lichen planus

Patients should thoroughly clean their mouth daily with warm saline solution or an antibacterial mouthwash to prevent bacterial growth. At the same time, they should maintain adequate fluid intake to keep the mouth moist. Antifungal medications such as oral ketoconazole solution or topical ointments can be used to treat oral lichen. If symptoms are severe, laser therapy or surgical excision may be considered.
