What causes a baby's stomach to make gurgling noises?
Disease description:
What causes a baby's stomach to gurgle?
1. Normal phenomenon: An infant's gastrointestinal function is not yet fully developed, and the intestinal peristalsis is relatively fast, which may lead to bowel sounds characterized by gurgling noises from the abdomen.
2. Excessive hunger: When an infant is excessively hungry, excessive gastric acid secretion can stimulate intestinal motility, resulting in audible bowel sounds.
3. Cold abdomen: If the infant is not kept warm enough, leading to a cold abdomen, gastrointestinal motility may increase and produce noticeable sounds.
4. Indigestion: Infants have relatively weak digestive function. Consuming too much milk at once may impair digestion, causing abnormal gastrointestinal motility and increased (hyperactive) bowel sounds.
