Generally speaking, if a single tooth is missing, dental implants, dentures, or bridges can be considered as restorative options. Dental implants are the most common method; they fully replace the missing tooth and offer high functionality and aesthetic appeal. The implant procedure involves placing an artificial tooth root into the site of the missing tooth, followed by the attachment of a crown, and the entire process typically takes several months. Dentures represent a more traditional approach, in which artificial teeth made from synthetic materials resembling natural teeth are fabricated and then secured to the gums using adhesive. Bridges require grinding down adjacent healthy teeth to serve as supports, thus causing greater damage to natural teeth.
