How to fix a loose tooth

A loose tooth can be stabilized through several methods.

1. If the tooth becomes loose due to trauma and the condition is mild, a dental arch bar splinting technique may be used. This method involves attaching the loose tooth to adjacent stable teeth with a splint. With time and healing, the tooth may regain stability.

2. For tooth mobility caused by periodontal disease, after receiving comprehensive periodontal treatment to control inflammation, periodontal fiber-reinforced splinting can be applied. This method provides support and stabilization for the loose tooth.

3. If the tooth is severely loose and cannot be stabilized using the above methods, root canal treatment may be required to eliminate pulp inflammation before stabilization procedures are performed.

4. In special cases, such as replantation of a dislodged tooth, methods like wire ligature fixation or resin bonding fixation may be used.
