If the skin is burned by a chemical solution, immediately rinse the affected area thoroughly with large amounts of lukewarm water to reduce residual chemicals and prevent further damage. Then, gently cover the wound with sterile gauze to prevent additional infection. For mild burns, apply an antibacterial ointment or burn moisturizing cream to relieve pain and promote healing.

For severe burns—such as those accompanied by redness, swelling, increased pain, or broken skin—seek immediate medical attention for professional treatment. During recovery, keep the wound clean and dry, and avoid using irritating medications or cosmetics that could worsen the injury.
