When dry autumn weather causes itchy skin, the following measures can help relieve the discomfort:

1. Maintain adequate daily fluid intake—generally around 2,000 milliliters of water per day—to keep the skin hydrated.

2. Immediately apply moisturizers such as lotion or petroleum jelly after each bath or facial wash to lock in moisture and alleviate dryness and itching.

3. Choose mild, slightly acidic skincare products, and avoid strongly alkaline cleansers that may damage the skin's protective barrier.

4. Eat more foods that moisten dryness and promote body fluids, such as pears and sugarcane, and avoid excessive consumption of spicy or irritating foods like chili peppers and mustard.

5. Use a humidifier or place indoor water-based plants to increase room humidity, which helps maintain skin moisture.
