What are the symptoms of liver cysts?
Disease description:
I've been feeling stomach pain, and sometimes discomfort or pain in the side of my waist. After visiting a nearby hospital for a checkup, I found out that I have a liver cyst, which came as a sudden surprise. I'd like to learn more: what are the symptoms of liver cysts?
Hepatic cysts may present with a variety of symptoms, but most patients show no obvious symptoms when the cysts are small. As the cysts enlarge, possible symptoms include: an abdominal mass, which can often be detected in the early stages; abdominal pain, usually dull or aching in nature and potentially worsening with physical activity or after eating; jaundice, which may occur when cysts compress the hepatic duct or common bile duct, leading to yellowing of the skin and sclera; and gastrointestinal discomfort such as loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting. In terms of treatment, patients without significant symptoms and with small cysts may be managed through observation and regular follow-up. For patients with明显 symptoms or larger cysts, treatment options may include surgical resection, pharmacological therapy, or nutritional support. Additionally, patients should maintain healthy lifestyle habits, avoid excessive fatigue, eat a balanced diet, and undergo regular follow-up examinations.
