Can myopia heal on its own?

Disease description:

I have mild myopia, and my recent eye exam shows 100 degrees of nearsightedness. I don't want to wear glasses, and was told it's pseudo-myopia, which can recover with proper care. I'd like to ask: can myopia really heal on its own?

Myopia usually does not improve automatically. The development of myopia is often associated with various factors such as eye usage habits, environmental influences, and genetics. Prolonged near-work, lack of outdoor activities, inadequate lighting, or excessively bright light may all contribute to the onset of myopia. Additionally, myopia has a certain degree of heritability—children with myopic parents are at higher risk of developing myopia. For established myopia, especially true (axial) myopia, spontaneous recovery is unlikely. Therefore, prevention is particularly important. Maintaining good eye-use habits—such as taking regular breaks, keeping an appropriate reading distance and angle, and increasing time spent outdoors—can help reduce the risk of myopia. Regular vision check-ups to detect and correct vision problems early are also essential preventive measures.
