Side effects of vaginal镜 examination
Disease description:
My period is delayed and hasn't arrived, so I went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor gave me an order for a vaginal ultrasound examination. I've always been very afraid—worried it might harm my body or cause infections, and I also feel quite embarrassed. I want to know what the side effects of a vaginal ultrasound are.
The side effects of colposcopy mainly include the following aspects:
1. Infection: If proper disinfection is not performed during the examination or local care is inadequate afterward, bacterial infection may occur, manifesting as vaginal bleeding, increased discharge, and other symptoms. In severe cases, it may even lead to sepsis.
2. Bowel perforation: Improper use of specialized instruments during the examination or pre-existing lesions in the patient may result in damage to the intestinal wall and subsequent perforation, potentially causing serious complications such as acute peritonitis or internal fistulas.
3. Bleeding: During the examination, mucosal tissue may be injured during biopsy procedures, leading to varying degrees of bleeding. In severe cases, hemorrhagic shock may occur.
