Sexual activity may also stimulate uterine contractions, causing dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation) or increased menstrual flow, and could even contribute to endometriosis. Additionally, intercourse during menstruation may result in retrograde menstrual flow, potentially triggering gynecological conditions like pelvic inflammatory disease. For women's health, it is recommended to avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation. Waiting until the period ends and the body has fully recovered before resuming sexual activity is a safer and healthier choice.
