Adenophora has a slightly cold nature and should not be used together with other cold-natured foods or medications. When taking Adenophora, avoid consuming white radish, crab, strong tea, and radish seeds simultaneously, as these substances may interfere with the herb's effectiveness or cause adverse reactions.

White radish and radish seeds may reduce the efficacy of Adenophora; crab, being similarly cold in nature, could exacerbate internal coldness. The tannins in strong tea can inhibit iron absorption, while caffeine may stimulate the central nervous system.

In addition, Adenophora should not be consumed with spicy or cold foods such as chili peppers or ice cream, as these may impair the body's absorption of the herb and diminish its therapeutic effects.

Potential side effects of Adenophora include gastrointestinal discomfort, dysmenorrhea, and impaired spleen and stomach function. It is contraindicated for individuals with wind-cold cough, uterine coldness, spleen-stomach deficiency, or those allergic to Adenophora.
