When children develop a yellow, greasy tongue coating and oral ulcers, it is usually related to internal damp-heat and dysfunction of the spleen and stomach. This condition may arise from damp-heat in the spleen and stomach, impairing the spleen's ability to metabolize fluids, causing dampness to accumulate in the body and leading to symptoms such as oral ulcers and a yellow, greasy tongue coating. In addition, irregular eating habits, deficiencies in vitamins or trace elements, and poor oral hygiene may also contribute to similar issues. To address this, parents are advised to first adjust the child's diet by providing vitamin-rich fruits such as oranges and kiwifruits, while avoiding spicy and irritating foods. Attention should also be paid to the child's oral hygiene, teaching proper tooth brushing techniques or rinsing the mouth after meals. If symptoms persist or worsen, prompt medical consultation is recommended, and treatment under medical guidance—such as using oral ulcer powder or vitamin B2 tablets—should be followed to alleviate the condition.
