What are the potential harms to the body after an abortion?
Disease description:
We currently have one child and became pregnant unexpectedly, so we are not ready to have another one yet. However, I would like to know what potential harm an abortion might cause to the body?

Abortion surgery can cause multifaceted harm to women's physical health, primarily including:
1. Reduced immunity: After surgery, women may experience decreased resistance and immunity due to insufficient rest or excessive fatigue.
2. Bleeding and infection: There is a risk of bleeding during the procedure, which may lead to anemia or abortion-related complications. If sterile techniques are not strictly followed during surgery, postoperative infections such as pelvic inflammatory disease may occur.
3. Damage to reproductive organs: Abortion surgery may injure the uterine wall, causing it to become thinner; in severe cases, uterine perforation or hemorrhage may result. It may also damage the fallopian tubes, leading to blockage or adhesions that impair fertility.
4. Menstrual disorders or infertility: The procedure may cause thinning of the endometrium, resulting in menstrual irregularities or infertility. Women should use effective contraception when they do not have immediate plans for pregnancy, to avoid the physical harm associated with abortion surgery.
