How to take fluconazole for the treatment of fungal vaginitis
Disease description:
I have been diagnosed with fungal vaginitis and would like to take fluconazole for treatment, but I'm not sure how to take it. Could you please tell me how to take fluconazole for fungal vaginitis?
Fluconazole, a commonly used medication for treating fungal vaginitis, should be administered strictly according to the doctor's instructions. Generally, fluconazole can be taken orally or applied locally (e.g., vaginal suppositories). For oral administration, the usual adult dose is 750 mg twice daily. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the condition. It is generally recommended to start medication 3–5 days after menstruation ends, with one week of treatment constituting one course. For mild infections, a treatment period of 5–7 days may be sufficient; however, for severe infections or patients with poor immune resistance, the treatment may need to be extended to 2–3 courses. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment to prevent disease recurrence or transmission to sexual partners.
