Oral ulcers in children following a fall are usually caused by external impact to the soft tissues of the mouth, resulting in damage to the oral mucosa or soft tissue. This injury may manifest as local redness, swelling, bleeding, and pain. Especially when a child's language development is not yet complete, they may be unable to accurately express their discomfort. When managing such cases, it is important to first disinfect and clean the wound to prevent infection. The area can be rinsed with normal saline, hydrogen peroxide solution, or iodophor, and then covered with sterile gauze. Topical medications such as oral ulcer powder or watermelon frost can be applied to promote healing of the ulcer. If there is evidence of inflammatory infection, antibiotic treatment may also be necessary. Additionally, parents should pay attention to dietary adjustments for the child, offering light, easily digestible foods and avoiding spicy or irritating foods that could aggravate the ulcer. Maintaining good oral hygiene is also crucial; rinsing the mouth before and after meals helps reduce bacterial growth and the risk of infection.
