What causes dry mouth, parched tongue, and hot hands and feet?
Disease description:
For the past few days, I have been experiencing symptoms such as dry mouth and throat, accompanied by feverish sensations in my hands and feet, along with general discomfort and poor mental condition. What could be causing dry mouth, sore throat, and hot hands and feet?
Dry mouth and heat in the hands and feet may be caused by various factors. Below are several possible explanations:
1. Yin deficiency with hyperactive fire: This is a common explanation in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). When the body's yin fluids are insufficient, they cannot balance the yang energy, leading to internal deficiency fire. This results in symptoms such as dry mouth and throat, and a sensation of heat in the palms and soles. It may be related to overwork, staying up late, or emotional instability.
2. Excessive liver fire: When liver fire becomes excessive, it can also cause dry mouth and heat in the hands and feet. This condition is often associated with prolonged stress, emotional fluctuations, and irregular eating habits.
3. Autonomic nervous system dysfunction: From a Western medical perspective, these symptoms may be linked to autonomic nervous system imbalance. Particularly during menopause in women, hormonal changes make such symptoms more likely to occur.
All of these conditions should be evaluated in conjunction with individual lifestyle and dietary habits, and appropriate regulatory measures should be taken. If symptoms persist or worsen, prompt medical consultation is recommended.
