What causes chapped and peeling lips?
Disease description:
Today, when I was putting on makeup and about to apply lipstick, I noticed my lips were very dry and peeling. Why do my lips keep flaking like this?
There may be several reasons why lips frequently peel. 1. Dry weather is a significant factor, especially during autumn and winter when the air has low humidity, causing moisture on the lip surface to evaporate quickly and leading to peeling. 2. Dehydration is another common cause; when the body loses water too rapidly or fluid intake is insufficient, lips tend to become dry and start peeling. Additionally, neglecting lip care is a frequent contributor to chapped lips, particularly in dry environments—without proper care, lips can easily become dry and flaky. 3. Certain bad habits, such as licking the lips, can also worsen dryness and peeling. To prevent and improve lip peeling, it's important to keep the lips moisturized, maintain adequate hydration, practice proper lip care, and avoid harmful habits.
