Will acute orchitis cause severe testicular pain?
Disease description:
My testicle pain is quite severe now, possibly due to inflammation. Could this be caused by acute orchitis? Does acute orchitis cause severe testicular pain?

Acute orchitis can cause significant pain in the testicles. The pain is usually located in one side of the scrotum and may be accompanied by radiating discomfort extending to the groin area. This pain arises from inflammation-induced factors that lead to local congestion, edema, and exudation within the scrotum, which subsequently irritate the tissues and organs. The severity of pain may increase as the infection worsens, commonly presenting as localized pain on one side of the scrotum, although it may sometimes involve the entire scrotum. Therefore, patients with acute orchitis often experience severe testicular pain and should seek prompt medical evaluation and treatment.
