Risks of Urinary Bag Use in Bladder Cancer Patients
Disease description:
My friend recently underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) and is still using a urinary bag for an extended period. I would like to ask about the risks associated with long-term urinary bag use for bladder cancer.

The main risks of using a urinary bag for bladder cancer include:
1. Urinary tract infections: Prolonged use of a urinary bag may allow bacteria to travel backward into the urinary system, increasing the risk of urinary tract infections, which may cause symptoms such as pain, cloudy urine, or persistent fever.
2. Risk of bladder stones: Improper use of a urinary bag may increase the likelihood of developing bladder stones, thereby affecting the patient's health and recovery process.
3. Bladder atrophy: Long-term use of a urinary bag may gradually reduce bladder capacity, leading to bladder atrophy and impairing normal urination function.
4. Difficulties in care: Urinary bags require regular replacement and proper care. Inadequate care may lead to complications such as local abscesses or high fever, increasing patient discomfort and burden.
